RCIA is designed for adults who, after hearing the mystery of Christ proclaimed, consciously and freely seek the living God and enter the way of faith and conversion as the Holy Spirit opens their hearts. The importance of RCIA is not simply “joining the Catholic Church.” By exploring the teachings of the Church, and experiencing St. Charles faith community’s dedication to living and growing in Christ together, we pray that a person’s heart will be opened to, and remain rooted in, the loving grace of God.

It is Jesus that you seek when you dream of happiness; He is waiting for you when nothing else you find satisfies you; He is the beauty to which you are so attracted; it is He who provoked you with that thirst for fullness that will not let you settle for compromise; it is He who urges you to shed the masks of a false life; it is He who reads in your heart your most genuine choices, the choices that others try to stifle.
Pope St. John Paul II
We have come to believe in God's love: in these words the Christian can express the fundamental decision of his life. Being Christian is not the result of an ethical choice or a lofty idea, but the encounter with an event, a person, which gives life a new horizon and a decisive direction.
Pope Benedict XVI Deus Caritas Est
These words from two modern Supreme Pontiffs of the Catholic Church encompass the heart of the RCIA process. If you or someone you know has a desire to look more intently at the longings of the human heart and how we as Catholics see our faith in Jesus satisfying every aching longing written into the fiber of your being: please, please, reach out to me to inquire more about the RCIA process, to come and ask questions, to learn what it is to be a Catholic Christian.
Our gatherings will be resuming on Sunday, the 18th of September after the 10:00AM Mass in the *Parish Activity Center (located at the other end of the parking lot from the Church).
For those who are already a fully initiated Catholic and are wondering if you, too, can come and explore those longings of your heart...yes. I, and our entire team, would love for you to join our conversation. I will be publishing the prospective conversation topics the week beforehand so you can decide on a weekly basis if you are interested in joining.
Yours in Christ, Fr. Kevin J. Fox
