CENTENNIAL NEWS FOR MAY 2022
Our theme this month is concentrated on “Vocations.” Did you know that in Fr. Carlin’s time as pastor, we have celebrated as many as 15 “First Masses”? A “First Mass” is one that is celebrated by a newly ordained priest, normally celebrated at his home parish. This weekend, as we kick off our Centennial Year, we welcome back more than 20 priests as well as religious men and women who have either served us at Saint Charles or have celebrated their “First Mass” here. We pray for more vocations to come from Saint Charles to the priesthood and religious life. As we carry out our plans for the Centennial Year, you can still become a part of it by texting “charlesparma” to 84576.
A PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS
Almighty and Eternal God,
In Your unfailing love You provide ministers for Your Church.
We pray for those whom You call to serve the Church of Saint Charles Borromeo as priests and religious. Inspire in them a generous response.
Grant them courage and vision to serve Your people. May their lives and service call Your people to respond to the presence of
Your Spirit among us that, faithful to the Gospel and hope of Jesus the Christ,
we may: announce glad tidings to the poor, proclaim liberty to captives, set prisoners free, and renew the face of the earth.
Amen.
