Folk Group

Dear Aspiring Musician,

I am glad that you have expressed an interest in joining the St. Charles Contemporary Choir. Music with other instrumentation besides organ has been around at St. Charles for over 40 years. From the “Joy Seekers” folk group of the early 70’s until now, music with a more ‘contemporary’ bent to it has been used in worship here at St. Charles. We sing a wide variety of music from standard hymns to contemporary Christian music with some Latin chant sprinkled in. We use a variety of instruments for accompaniment of the congregation including: flute, drums bongos, piano, guitar, electric bass and saxophone. We are continually seeking for good honest folk to join us. Did you sing in the high school choir? Did you play an instrument in the band? Do you know of someone else who would like to join us? You can be young or old.

Come and join us. We rehearse on Thursday evenings from 7:45 to 9:00 pm in the Upper Parish Hall.

Our ministry is at the 6:00 pm liturgy on Saturday evening or at the 10:30 am liturgy in the Upper Parish Hall on Sunday Morning.

No formal audition is necessary, but I would like to meet with you.

Thank you,
Dave Kelly
